GST FREE SHOPPING AT ECCO IN NZ

 

  1. DPS Retail Ltd trading as ECCO Shoes now offers a GST Free service for customers departing New Zealand. This service and the sales process is governed by IRD and NZ Customs regulations, so your full cooperation is imperative to ensure a smooth transaction.
  2. GST Free purchases are offered on full price footwear only. This service is currently available in store or online, for passengers departing from Auckland or Christchurch International Airports.  
  3. All purchases must be transacted in the time frame specified below.

 

ONLINE PURCHASES

  1. All GST Free purchases must be made at least 10 working days prior to departure to allow enough time for administration to be completed, and items to be shipped to the airport.
  2. To obtain the GST exemption for an online purchase, use the code GSTFREE in the coupon field at the online checkout. Please use the comments area on the checkout page to provide the following information:
    -    Passport #
    -    Flight #
    -    Airline and departure date
    -    Name on ticket
  3. Once your purchase has been transacted you will receive a confirmation email with all the relevant information for collection of your goods.

 

IN STORE PURCHASES

  1. We require that you make your purchase at least 4 days prior to your departure dates to allow enough time for administration to be completed and items to be shipped to the airport.
  2. Proof of travel must be provided at the time of purchase, this includes Passport #, Flight #, airline and departure date.  These details are to be given to a Sales Representative at the store of purchase.
  3. Once your purchase has been transacted you will receive a receipt for the goods, a document with all the relevant information and a map to locate the collection point at the airport to collect your goods.

 

COLLECTING YOUR MERCHANDISE

  1. Your shoes can be collected from the “Collection Point” at the relevant international departing airport (using the map provided). You must clear immigration and customs control prior to collecting your items. IRD NZ stipulates that goods must exit the country to be eligible for GST exemption.
  2. Please note that NZ Customs carries out periodic checks on items departing the country.
  3. NZ Customs “Advice to Travellers” states that items will be admitted GST Free, provided they are intended for your own use and not a gift, sale or exchange. You may be required to pay the GST if this is not the case.
